So, Frankie was one of Negans wives, and she was also one of the pike victims. Did Negan know Frankie was one of the pike victims? If he did, how did he feel about it?
We know heās aware of the border (he mentions it in season 9) so he knows what happened there, and Iād like to think Michonne and co. were decent enough to tell him who died--- at the very least the people he knew (Frankie and DJ.)
I think he finds the whole thing disturbing. He understands the need to go to certain extremes to get a point across, heās done so himself, but killing that many --- especially with three of them being kids --- and displaying them in such a way, is excessive to him. Especially since the Whisperers struck first by killing Jesus and the other communitiesā crimes in this situation were what... one of their teenagers running into their territory? The idea that Alpha was able to sneak into a community and kidnap all those people so easily was a terrifying thought as an ex-leader, and still a terrifying idea to someone that up to that point hadnāt seen the outside world in years. There was so much going on and Negan couldnāt do a damn thing about it, and he hated that. He learned that this group of batshit insane people were out there and he just had to sit in that cell and hope none of them snuck into Alexandria and decided to shank him in his sleep. But now that heās out and about... weāll see, wonāt we?
As for how he felt about Frankie (and DJ) dying specifically... heās bothered, finds it unfortunate that something so violent happened to them. Doesnāt like the idea of such a pretty woman having her head sliced off and stuck on a pike, obviously, especially when said woman had an adopted daughter thatās now without parents (though Iām not sure Negan knows about her.)
Heās not... hurt, though, on a personal level. He hates when his people die and though heās no longer their leader, their familiarity leaves remnants of that feeling when he finds out. There mightāve been some anger, frustration, but he didnāt cry or anything... she was aĀ āwife,ā yes, but he didnāt love her. Liked her, wouldnāt want anything to happen to her, and had this happened back in his Savior days there wouldāve been some strong consequences for daring to hurt let alone kill one of his women. But thatās eight years behind them now and the wholeĀ āwifeā thing ended the second Rick slit his throat. He never really formed any close relationships with his people, even his wives, always held a certain emotional distance from them. Because of that, while he thinks it sucks that she died, that itās sad and that she didnāt deserve such a gruesome fate, itās not eating away at him or anything. Heās not out to get revenge on Alpha for killing Frankie specifically.
