Yesterday I came across something very strange. As I was getting into the shower I looked down to notice that my mom had bought a new shower mat. Oddly, this realization hit me and I immediately felt upset at the fact that the old shower mat was gone forever. Something that once was seen every single day but never fully noticed every time until it was finally changed. Ever since this, I've been thinking about the changes around me that I don't really notice. Changes from painting my wall white to blue, adding a picture frame to the wall, changing my toothbrush. All these strange changes have just been making me upset. Something I always believe is that every lighter has a story behind it. I always carry a lighter on me at all times, even though I don't smoke cigarettes every day, simply because even though that lighter is sitting in my pocket, its living through experiences from going to festivals and concerts to being there with me passing a biology exam. The imaginary essence that comes with inanimate objects is something that shouldn't go unnoticed, which is why losing a lighter to me is heartbreaking, just like watching inanimate objects inevitably come and go around me. Why is this all important? Things are always changing whether or not you realize it and nothing lasts forever so make every moment count.
