WEREWOLF STATUE (OOP6-KE)

DESCRIPTION:

Originally a sculpture of a large, bipedal werewolf created by [REDACTED] for use in celebration of [REDACTED].

Object/creature has gained lifelike appearance and form, possessing thick, coarse canine-like fur mimicking the colouring of Chrysocyon brachyurus, canine-like teeth, and a head resembling that of Canis lupus.

The object/creature possesses a second form virtually indistinguishable from an ordinary human in the image of [REDACTED], the young woman believed to be the creator of the statue. [REDACTED] has not been seen since [REDACTED]. How it obtained this form is unknown. The object/creature has long red hair that matches the colour of its beast-like form, a single golden eye (right eye), and a scar on its face over its left eye obtained in [REDACTED] where [REDACTED] and their team were sent to subdue it.

ABILITIES:

The object/creature is capable of understanding and producing human speech. Currently proficient in English and [REDACTED], speaking with a noticeable accent.

Object/creature possesses abilities that fall in line with traditional 'werewolf' myths: enhanced durability, strength, hearing, and sense of smell. Able to change shape between human and 'werewolf' by [REDACTED]. Forced change recorded every [REDACTED] days coinciding with [REDACTED].

Able to cause psychological distress with prolonged contact with its beast-like form. Observers reported a 'deer in headlights' feeling accompanied by paranoia, nervousness, anxiety, and a deep desire to get far away from the object/creature. Negative emotions heightened with extended contact until the flight-or-fight response kicked in and observers fled the containment room. Separation of object/creature and observer through glass or via monitor does not ease the effect; it appears to be a result of continued perception of any kind. Negative feelings abate over time once the object/creature is out of view.

Object/creature is not bound to any individual. Unknown if binding is possible. Attempts deemed too dangerous at present and object/creature expressed extreme distress when brought up, becoming violent. *

CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES:

Object/creature requires a large, high-ceilinged cell with several inch thick reinforced walls. Audio-visual monitoring equipment must be installed and constantly maintained and ideally placed out of reach of object/creature. Suppression agents must be outfitted in containment cell in case of violent outbursts or escape attempts. *

BACKGROUND:

The Bureau was alerted to the object/creature after a string of violent attacks began being reported across the continent. Stories all shared a similar premise: violent murders, corpses eaten by wild animals, a large bipedal man-creature, rumours of [REDACTED] walking around despite their [alleged] death. The most violent attacks occurred on [REDACTED].

A team led by [REDACTED] was dispatched to [REDACTED] to investigate and subdue the object/creature. [REDACTED] were killed in the ensuing fight with [REDACTED] sustaining serious injuries from the object/creature.

NOTE:

Object/creature expressed desire to be addressed as “Ly.” Name derived from mythological “lycan?”

Possibly the first recorded instance in the history of the Bureau of an object gaining sentience as we understand it. Unknown how this could have happened and if that means that all objects currently or one day in the Bureau's possession could achieve such a state.
