Convenience isn't bad because of some inherent value in toil or it rots your soul. Convenience is bad because it often comes at the cost of an exploited underclass. I don't care if someone wants to taxi their meal to their house instead of making it themselves or even driving to the restaurant themselves. I care that meal delivery apps underpay their workers (they don't even consider them their workers), provide no workplace protections, and prey on their desperation.

The desire for convenience is a morally neutral thing (no matter how many capitalists want their workers to see unproductivity or aversion to the "grind" as a moral failing). Companies that sell you only convenience by making it worse for yourself and for others are not.

i think the marvel vs dc conversation is bad because they're very different animals and i think its very obvious in how they approach the avengers and the justice league, even if you compare it between dceu and mcu, because at the end of the day superheroes in marvel seem to be allied with the governemtn regardless of their cause, like shield and avengers seem to be deeply connected in both fucntion and system because they're lead by a military guy and then the league in itself is funny because literally no one gets paid, they consider it volunteer work, that they operate outside of the planet so they would not be beholden to one state

#like this isn't you know a one is better than the other #its just completely different type of stakes #like argus in dc is not as deeply connected to the league #and why i think people expecting the same marvel formula to work for dc doesn't work #but when it does its because i think people just really like the marvel approach #like the dctv approach has always been mcu adjacent and again as much as i dont care for the mcu #it works because its entertaining for other people #but it just completely homogenizes the genre for me #that you can't differentiate one from the other and that's boring #especially since current dc is soooo boring to me #im sad about it

Black people who have any form of hair at all deserve 1 million dollars.

#The haircare industry towards black people is fucking INSANE #I am. Wholly anti-consumerist okay. I don't need one million shampoos I don't need one million brushes #but for a lot of black people's hair. Maintaining it DOES require a lot of work and a lot of products #even if you are buying the cheapest and most minimal of things you're going to spend a lot #my family is poor as beans and my mom is spending like 15 bucks a bottle on shampoo and conditioner AT LEAST (30 bucks for both)#You need oils you need combs you need products and it's. A LOT. And if you don't have that money your hair simply isn't gonna be as healthy #There is societal pressure not just from white people but from other black people as well that your hair has got to look good #What good is an afro that's shrunken and tangled? What good are braids that aren't tight enough?#It makes you feel like you're worthless if your hair isn't done. It makes you feel like YOU are not good enough #It takes HOURS to do your hair and people will STILL say it's not good enough #Not to mention groups and jobs who require straight hair.#Which means either you're going to fry the shit out of it #OR spend hundreds of extra dollars on heat-protection and moisturizers. WHICH ARENT GUARANTEED TO WORK #And all of that is without mentioning the strain this places on black autistic people or people with sensory issues or ADHD #or just tenderheaded people in general #Yeah actually I DO think it's ableist to expect adults and CHILDREN with autism to sit through HOURS of painful brushing and sensations #“But I have to take care of my kids hair or its neglect” that's understandable. But it is still VERY traumatizing for kids that age #Especially disabled kids #I dunno I just think it's fucked up. God
