watching I, Borg (the tng ep in which Hugh first appears) and when Picard agrees to have the injured young Borg beaned up to a shielded detention cell, he pauses, sighs, and leaves the bridge - but then
there's this extraordinary little moment where it's clear that Data has assessed this situation and realised Picard's history with the Borg must make this difficult for him, and he comes to this conclusion logically of course
but he then turns and looks at Deanna, and she looks at him, and then she goes to follow the captain - and it's a really beautiful moment because they've both literally come to the same conclusion "oh he's gonna need counselling" but via completely different substrates of perception, and your honour we love them for loving him
