I posted this in video format, but i figured I'd summarize into text. I got the hyperx quadcast S (using my money, not sponsored) to replace my solocast, and I've been using it for a couple weeks now. Thoughts:
Pros:
- sounds clearer than the solocast and much clearer than your average headset mic
- tap to mute is VERY convenient and easy to tell when you're muted (rgb turns off)
- gain wheel is very convenient to make easy adjustments on the fly
- headphone jack is great for monitoring
Cons:
- price difference between the solocast and quadcast (about 4x more) is hard to justify when it's not a massive increase in quality
- gain wheel is too easy to control, easy to bump it without noticing and blow out everyone's eardrums
So far I really like it and the sale made it easier to stomach the price tag!
