Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD): an extreme emotional sensitivity and pain triggered by the perception that a person has been rejected or criticized. It may also be triggered by a sense of falling short—failing to meet their own high standards or others’ expectations. It’s characterized by extreme emotional sensitivity to being criticized or rejected, whether real or perceived.

Alexithymia is a difficulty in identifying, differentiating and expressing one's emotions, difficulty in verbally communicating emotions, or sometimes those of others, having a great difficulty identifying body signals. This personality trait is commonly seen among neurodivergent people & autistic people.

In short, the clinical criteria for alexithymia are presented as follows:

Tireless description of physical symptoms;

Difficulty in verbally communicating emotions; repetitive speech;

poor phantasmal and dreamlike production;
