freak isn't inherently ableist afaik but it IS a loaded word if it is used to describe someone who is disabled. calling someone a freak in what is clearly a lighthearted tone is not ableist because it just means abnormal/ abnormality. i think the association with disability is from "freak shows" but, again, not the only use of the word.
