How Did This Get Made #hdtgm #hdtgmlive #hurricaneheist #hurricaneheistmovie #onioncomedyfest (at The Athenaeum Theatre - Chicago)
Hurricane Heist!
… This movie is exactly what you think it is. Your first warning sign. There’s not a single recognizable name in the credits and not in the independent "film festival" kinda way. It’s the girl who played Pete’s fiancé in the first season of “The League,” And the dude who played the dad in, “The Witch.” Those are your biggest hitters in terms of recognizability in the movie. Oh, and the guy who played Sookie’s brother in True Blood. The plot is absurd. The motivations seem like they were made up by ...a five year old playing with K-mart action figures with titles such as, “action man,” or the Go-bots. The only people who should ever bear witness to this movie are people like me. People who have a movie pass and feel the need to squeeze every dollar out of it that they can. And someone who has a best friend who also enjoys going to bad movies in order to mock them. So the only other two people that I can really think of that might match this description is Jacob McFadden and Benjamin J Braman. If you aren’t Ben and Jacob. Do not see this movie in theaters. I give it a one out of five. That being said, I did enjoy making fun of it. So there is definitely still entertainment value in this movie, but I would definitely wait for redbox and enjoy an evening of drinking and a bad movie with friends!

A Mini Review of - “Hurricane Heist”
To be honest, I really don’t know how this movie made the big screen. However, in all its horrible glory, I found it entertaining... in order to see all the things that were absolutely wrong with it. The general expression I had on my face at the theater:
Hurricane Heist really attempted to connect the pieces and the characters through some poorly written narrative. I’m a little bit surprised that this movie was marked as an action thriller and not a comedy spoof. Here were just a few of the issues:
1. Plot: No one in their right mind would plan to rob the U.S. Treasury based off weather... let alone a hurricane.Â
2. Characters: The “Bad Guys” that were involved in the heist were clearly in over their heads. This included disgruntled cops with their loaded fire arms, emotional brothers with their “pew pew” tranquilizers that could penetrate bulletproof jackets, and two love bird hackers who looked like they just left the club in South Jersey. Â
3. Setting the mood: Never start off a movie with an apparition in the clouds, not unless you are Mufasa from “The Lion King.”Â
Would I have paid to see this Movie? Unfortunately, No. I would have been sooooo mad if i had to had paid full price.Â
MoviePass Worthy? To see the best of the worst? When “Twister” meets Disney’s “Blank Check” then YES definitely!Â
I rate this move a 10/10 for best action and a nice weather movie. #hurricaneheist

Can't wait to see this movie this weekend that my friend Jeff wrote. His last 16 years in Hollywood would make for a great documentary on the power of hard work and persistence. Now his first major theatrical release, "Hurricane Heist" comes out worldwide on Friday. I hope you will all go see it! #hurricaneheist #movie #hurricaneheistmovie #movies (at Holywood)
