Today, Jupiter High School has a football stadium. 60 years ago, Jupiter still had a single school campus (on Loxahatchee Drive) for all 12 grades, with a football field out back! Here's the school band in the stands. Do you recognize anyone?

The band director has been identified as John Henry Hupp. He was band director from 1959 to 1978, and also a World War II Army veteran.

The Loxahatchee River Historical Society's mission encompasses not just the lighthouse, but preserving the history of the whole Jupiter-Tequesta area.

I’m in this photo and so is my oldest brother as we were both in the marching band.  Our brother Bill is also in the photo as one of the punks up on top of the bleachers.  We were a very small school and a very small band.  I still remember Mr. Hupp yelling at us as we took the field.  We really weren’t very good.
