on a purely energetic level search has a lot of stamina, but the fact remains that he was not designed for going at high speed for longer distances. he can handle the strain of sudden, explosive movement but too much strong sustained effort and he'd start overheating from working his servos so hard for so long and his legs would start breaking from the excessive shock.

oh yeah in general search doesnt just straight up blow people up when they see him. that would leave too much evidence. the high explosives are in case of any of wily's other combat robots make a break for it or defending wily in case of being found out. instead due to his strength he could easily and quickly break a human's neck and definitely has the explosive speed to grab someone in order to do so. if theres more than one human involved generally they will be shot.
