The 12-24 was a development of the 1921-24 11.4 Which itself was an updated and bored out version of the 10hp, initially called the Improved Ten. The IOE fitted from late 1922 was to have a valve gear arrangement that would remain with Humber until the reversion to the side valve engine in 1933. Styling was reminiscent of the larger 15-9. The 11-4 became the 12-25 in 1924 with its engine enlarged from 1743cc to 1795cc and had the option of front wheel brakes. Five regular body styles were available on the 12/25 chassis, by far the most popular of which was the four-seater tourer that accounted for more than 50 percent of total production. Its price in 1926, the final year of production, was £440, a considerable sum at the time and one that reflected Humber's policy of producing cars of high quality for a discerning clientele.
