To say that the past few days had been... Interesting was an understatement. Joseph knew that he had a very adventurous life, but things seemed to be going quite on the upscale.
After the events with Xerneas, his daughter had gotten sick, so of course he had gone to get her. He wouldn’t fly her over, but he had Meteor carry her while he transported them with the porter back to the cabins.
There he, along with his wife, had seen to their daughter and made sure she would be fine.
Then came the eve of Christmas, and Joseph had naturally prepared gifts, as well as the others, though Juno said that his wasn’t ready yet for N. Whatever it was, Juno had looked excited and he had apologized to N for the delay on his part.
Either way, from Joseph the boys had gotten new clothes, something that fit their styles, as well as new Pokeball belts which he had bought, coats and shirts, as well as some jeans. Clothes were important after all.
For Gladion he had purchased a new Z ring. It shone a gunmetal gray with obsidian gems at the corners. Yes, he had splurged a little. He hoped that Gladion liked it. It was supposed to be very comfortable to wear as well. He had seen his old one had gone a little raggedy.
For Night he had thought of heavily, and he gave him a defensive charm. It would create a shield around him for a little while, maybe just around a minute. It was a charm that used up a lot of power, but it would help him escape if he ever needed too. Or to get an edge on his opponent. It was there for him as a just in case if he ever got into trouble again.
For N, he had bought him certain items from his own home. Certain conditioners and grooming tools for thick pelts and furs. Since he knew Kianga’s secret, he thought it wise to give him something that would help with certain annoying problems. It even had something that would help sharpen claws, if he was so inclined to use it.
For Juno, he had given him a catalog of old legends about Absols. This one had been tricky to find, since in many cases there was little to find on them, but let’s just say Joseph knew people that kept a better track of things.
Spirit.. He hadn’t known much on what to give Spirit, but he decided to be practical in that case. With how much certain things laid on his shoulders, and how stressed he was under certain circumstances, Joseph had considered it, and he had gotten him something he hoped was practical for the young man. Brass Knuckles. Now that did sound serious, but in his defense, Joseph thought that Spirit could need it.
With so much set on Spirit’s shoulders, with so much expected of him, and not to mention people, strangers, creeps. Hounding at Spirit, he thought this a smart choice. The Brass Knuckles had an enchantment on them that would paralyze the target for long enough to either get Melia or anyone else to pop in and get the fight over and done with. Call it paranoid, but Joseph wanted Spirit to be prepared.
For Ice, he decided to give him something that would help that aura of his. They were special meditation balls that he could use to help focus his abilities. He thought it practical and in good taste for the young man. And since he knew him more or less as a wanderer, he had also supplied photos of certain alien countries from other worlds. They were human places of course, and he hoped he would find them interesting. He even had a few notes on certain old legends he might find interesting.
For the Pokemon he had bought toys or certain things that would help in regards to their health and wellness. And he had bought something special for them all. A large wild hog, it just needed to be cooked and served, and he’d do that soon. The hog itself was from another world where plain animals were common, and Joseph had wanted to give them all a taste of a good barbecue.
For Ashe, well, he showed it to her when she had the time to stay awake. He smiled as he took out her present, and helped her unwrap it, and showed off the bow he had made with his father.
The bow itself was as white as ivory and it looked splendid in the dull but warm light. It wasn’t strung yet, but it still looked sturdy and reliable, and the wood itself gave of a faint aura of fae energy that readily accepted Ashe’s presence. Even Morgan would be able to feel that energy.
The bow looked like it had been a labor of love and care. And of course, she got the gloves for her wrists and grip of course. Those two items were enchanted to help in that regard.
For Morgan. there wasn’t much he could give, but he had gotten an idea from his sister, and she had helped him to get it. For Morgan, he had given her a flower. It was called a Moon Lilly, and it was said to grow in very rare cases. Thanks to his sisters magic though, this flower would stay in bloom for as long as it would receive care and love from its caretakers. Essentially, if it was well taken care of, it could last forever.
It had a very delicate and sweet smell. The aroma it gave wasn’t very strong, but it could fill a room, and it smelled of old sweet memories, and of happy days.
Why had he given her this? Because it resembled their bond and connection. They both trusted and loved each other so much. The flower was a reminder that their bond, if nurtured always, and given the attention it needed. It would always stay strong. That they would always be there for each other, no matter what.
