Storytime- it was winter 2010 when I found myself homeless and at the lowest moment of my life. I did everything by the books; got an education, was a good child and friend, responsible but a hopeless romantic that inspired me to cross the country for love with the hopes that I would be reunited with my knight riding through in shiny armor to save me from the woes of my early years of transition and to validate me as a woman. Little did i know then that I needed to save myself. I found myself in Orlando Florida crashing on my friend's couch, crying myself to sleep and spending Christmas and New Years alone. It deeply affected my feelings surrounding winter holidays for years because all I could do was associate the holidays with abandonment and isolation. I slowly but surely crawled out of that dark place I found myself in when "the love of my life" ( I was young and naive 20 year old baby Trans girl) ghosted me with no regard to safety, security or feelings. It was in those dark times when I realized that the world would continue and that I couldn't wallow in pity for long. All those nights alone made a warrior out of me. I learned an important lesson; in this life you have to be your own best friend and lover first. No one is coming to save you, you have to save yourself and that you have to trust in your ability to survive, thrive and love yourself. #gypsy π #lips @livetinted #rise #huestick 𧑠#lashes @hudabeauty @jacquelinef143 #jacquelinefernandez Lashes πΉ #dupatta @desieverafter #nath @namaslaycollective #womanempowerment #womanpower #womancrushwednesday #wcw #desi #indian #indocaribbean #southasian #indianfashion #indianjewellery #indianjewelry #livetinted #paanipaani #transgender #trans #transwoman #transisbeautiful #lanapatel (at Temescal Valley, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CR5t5c3jKFi/?utm_medium=tumblr
