It was a gorgeous fall day on a fantastic #xc course, perfect day for the regional championship meet. The season ended today for #leelancersxc but they can be proud of the work they did today and all season. On the bus back to
@leehighschool_lancers with my #leelancersxc runners. We came out to @woodgrovehigh today to get some work in on the regionals course before Wednesday’s championship #xc meet. After one time jogging and walking to get familiar with it, we got down to business and knocked down some 800s on it. Yep, even coach. This was in between our afternoon #amazingrace event where they logged 7-8 miles but were having too much fun to notice, and our team dinner at the #franconiafirehouse. I have had more fun coaching this team than any other, they are such an incredible group, and the season actually isn’t over yet! All that ended today, though, as I started a 10k plan with the goal in mind of USATF Masters Cross Country Nationals in Portland, OR this December. I’ve got lots of time to prepare, but I feel like my running fitness is about as low as it’s ever been, and I need the long ramp. As for today, it was a solid 4-miler done in light rain after coaching XC practice. During practice, I also ran some wickets, to demonstrate proper running form to my kids. Sometimes you just have to teach by doing. Anyway, I was happy about a solid first day to the training cycle.

went to chi-city this afternoon, and went to melenium park! i know thats spelled wrong, sorry! well i watched like 11 clips of broadway shows, and they were SOO good! ive never been to a broadway show asdfhgdj. the ones i enjoyed most were the million dollar quartet, potterheads, catch me if you can, and i love lucy! i only ran 5 miles total today which is an all time low since i usually do 9.5 on weekdays..but im planning to drop my mileage right before cross country season..because its just 2 miles. ahaha but normally i would have 14 miles already, but i have 9 - 5 miles behind!:( well i hope everyone had a good monday! cross country summer camp is now officially over! im jealous hsxc starts wednesday..middle school starts in early september! :X
