so I made this the idea for it was to show how highly sensitive people feel around the people

This was inspired by me feeling overstimulated by my every day life and finding myself needing silence, to close my eyes, to cut off the stimulus so that I don't get overwhelmed. And for learning how to feel good about it. Even though I would love to be able to go out there and experience all that there is to see, I can't help but feel severely hindered by this condition, even though it shouldn't be a source of shame to begin with. But hsps notice things other people don't. They're attuned to their environment. They must learn how to be gentle with themselves (and therefore others) out of necessity. All of these things can be beautiful. So making this helps me find strength in not only accepting, but eventually embracing and celebrating who I am as another minority of sorts, as navigating a broader culture that favors that of an extreme capitalistic, toxic masculine, hyper-stressed, selfish, and overall unhappy individualism should call for everyone to be a little more bit sensitive to each other tbh.

For this older piece I used colored pencil on a piece of blue scrap paper - it even had three holes punched in it! My mother always upbraided me for drawing on scrap paper or in my school books instead of on something nice.
