Housework with cats is always an adventure. Today Edgar helped me with nearly everything. He draws a hard line at actually getting his paws wet so he doesn't do dishes but he's an outstanding supervisor. In this first picture he's telling me I'm doing it wrong. Then he's unfolding things because I've done it wrong and need to redo it, obviously. Lastly he's telling me I'm not fast enough, he's tired just watching me, AND I'm doing it wrong. Thank you Edgar, what would I ever do without you? Honestly I'm so blessed to have him, he's the sweetest, luckily he can't talk... Or won't. I always feel like cats could give you an earful but they just can't be bothered. Anyone else? No? People rarely talk about what it's like trying to do daily chores with a cat. This is Edgar "helping". No I don't move him or argue with him. He's faster than I am and there's no arguing with a cat. I just do as much as I'm able then move on, he'll follow me and I can return and finish whatever he was helping with in under ten minutes. It's very similar to having a toddler help but with fewer tantrums. I couldn't lure him away with food today because I had already fed his majesty. He insisted. I know some might get upset about this kind of thing but I think it's adorable and if he didn't do it I think I'd be disappointed. There are lots of little breaks for scritches around here for Edgar and Sammy. The chores take longer but they're a lot more fun this way.
