ummmm its camchase… who saw that coming,,,

i love them a lot. think they have a really sweet dynamic. i also gravitated towards them because theyre both in my top 3 favourite characters and what is better than shipping your favourite guys

my truly favorite episode changes a lot, and were I to write this any other day, I probably would have picked another one. but I do really love Games a whole lot.

probably known to a lot of people, I am a big fan of season 4. I don't think it's objectively the best season, but I love it personally. watching an episode from this season always cheers me up (save for the two-parter finale lol), so for this, and many other reasons, i'm picking this particular episode. there is just something about it!!! <3

girlbosses! billionaires! malpractice litigation! organ transplants! baba o'riley needledrop! control (1.14) has got it all.

look, my favorite episode is probably house's head like every other basic bitch. the episode i watch most often is probably you don't want to know or games because the survivor arc is so nostalgic for me. but i wanted to pick a classic potw episode, and control has everything i love about this show.*

marking the beginning of the vogler arc, control confronts house's philosophy of medicine. maybe cuddy is right. in the long run, the outcomes of vogler's clinical trials probably would save more lives than one diagnostics patient a week. and rules exist for a reason. organs are in short supply so wouldn't people prefer they go to where they can do the most good? but in practice, following those rules means signing the death warrant of a young woman because she struggles with her mental health.

where vogler sees the big picture, house sees the individual. his department is built on that philosophy; most of the time, diagnostics treats rare diseases that've already been missed by ordinary gps and specialists, for which there are few treatments and little financial incentive for pharma companies like vogler's to find a cure. the whole show--conceived in an era with rising health care costs and where your insurance could drop you for any preexisting condition, no matter how minor--is like a fantasy of medical system that would actually do anything, up to and including crimes, to save your life. "how much is your life worth?" house demands of the patient, carly. to house, here, today, everything.

unlike most medical shows--and unlike most real life doctors--house sees himself not in vogler or cuddy or any of those people sitting in a conference room deciding patients' fates, but in carly. cameron draws the comparison right at the start of the episode, by suggesting that carly has what house had. like house, carly has "that one thing that hits 'em that hard and that true . . . the thing that you think about all the time, the thing that keeps you south of normal." and like house, she hurts herself.

in the episode's key scene, house demands that carly fight for her life. his logic has an interesting tension. if carly has control over her eating disorder--that is, if she chose freely to destroy her own health--surely she deserves the transplant committee's judgment. after all, house usually has little patience for others' self destruction. but if she lacks control, it doesn't matter what she tells house. she will inevitably "screw it up."

but i don't think house really believes that a good talking to will cure carly's self-hatred. after all, if people don't change, how can someone break out of a mental illness through sheer willpower? i think he just wanted her to admit that she wanted to live. that just because you hurt yourself in ways small and large everyday, just because you sacrificed everything on the alter of your "one thing," just because you carry that self-hatred everywhere you go doesn't mean you don't want to live. it doesn't mean you aren't deserving of life.

i love all of them but to the surprise of absolutely no one, the title of hailey’s favourite house character is bestowed upon robert chase :)

i think chase is misunderstood by a lot of the fandom. there’s so many layers to him that most fans don’t see (or care to see!). his development is the best out of the supporting cast by far. chase from season 1 is not the same as chase from season 8. he loves and loses and learns and grows and his journey is just so amazing. i will always be a chasenator 4 life 💖🩺🇦🇺

I thought of shipping taubman after watching Lockdown. their segments in the file room were my favorite in the whole ep, them chasing each other while high on vicodin. “woah my 2 favorite characters interacting?! yippee!” I said (exaggeration).

their relationship carried season 7, I love them being roommates, the basketball scene was funny I really thought taub was going to win
