“So did you get stuck under any mistletoe this year? I love that stuff always makes for awkward situations.”

     The daughter of Demeter can be found in the middle of the woods, complete with a tear stained face and at least ten pages of paper she was slowly tearing to shreds. Despite this, a small ring of chrysanthemums had grown to surround the girl, a tentative smile playing on her lips.  “ Life is beautiful, isn’t it ? ” she asked quietly as she heard a crunch of leaves behind her. “ Did you know we’re exactly two months away from spring ? ”

Harper took a step off cabin thirty-one’s porch, her hands were deep inside the pockets of her jeans. She took a deep breath collecting her thoughts before the day started. There was something so tranquil about the camp at this time of the morning. She made her way towards the burnt out fire, the coals were still hot and there was still some smoke filling the air. She sat on one of the logs around the fire taking a deep breath letting the smoke fill her lungs, it was her favourite smell. She thought she was alone, every other day she would have been. But not today someone had spotted her and wondered over to see what she was doing. Her mind told her to be hostile and they’d leave her alone but it was early in the morning and why start the day off on the wrong foot. So instead she offered the other a small smile. “What are you doing up so early today?” she’d raise an eyebrow at the other before a small chuckle leaving her lips.
