Indulge in the rich and gooey goodness of a hot fudge brown butter skillet cookie. This decadent treat combines the flavors of brown butter, chocolate chips, and hot fudge sauce, creating a delightful dessert that's best enjoyed warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients: 1/2 cup 1 stick unsalted butter. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup cocoa powder. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup chocolate chips. 1/4 cup hot fudge sauce. Vanilla ice cream for serving.
Instructions: Start by heating the oven to 350F 175C. Set the butter in a small pan over medium-low heat. Stir the butter around a lot as you keep cooking until it turns golden brown and smells nutty. Take it off the heat and let it cool down a bit. Mix the white sugar, brown sugar, browned butter, egg, and vanilla extract in a bowl using a whisk until everything is well mixed. Add the cocoa powder, salt, baking soda, and flour all at once. Don't mix any further than that. Add the chocolate chips and mix them in. In a cast-iron skillet, press half of the cookie dough down. Cover the dough in the pan with the hot fudge sauce. Add spoonfuls of the rest of the cookie dough to the fudge sauce. It should be baked in a hot oven for twenty to twenty-five minutes, or until the edges are set but the middle is still a little gooey. Take it out of the oven and let it cool down a bit before you serve it. Put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top and serve warm. Have fun with your hot fudge brown butter skillet cookie!
