#i love this and what it says about their relationship#it also makes me feel more#confident that they'll both make it out#i think he'll do for teresa what she did for him#in the first two seasons#james essentially has the same character arc as her#he's just further along it Can you elaborate on these points a little? Because I really want to hear more of your thoughts on this parallel!
Hey! James and Teresa, imo, have been on a similar character arc but because James has been in the business longer so heās farther along than she is. Theyāre both good people who made mistakes and became trapped in a bad situation, having to work for a cartel. We know that over time, in order to survive, James buried his feelings and morals. Teresa is beginning to do the same, becoming increasingly Queen-like in the name of survival. She once told James she wouldnāt become like himĀ and he said she would; thatās where weāre headed. Teresa is beginning to bury her feelings, to go the more violent route, to rationalize aggression and to disregard the risks to other people. Sheās becoming the sort of person James was in the first season, tho sheās not there yet (she gave people the option of backing out of a risky plan, she was clearly upset about what happened to Lil T, and is afraid of anything happening to James, etc.). James, meanwhile, is starting to come out on the other side of this. He wants to do things a different, better way now but eventually heāll likely accept that there is no better way and that getting out is the only right thing to do. In many ways theyāve switched roles, which that gifset highlighted. Once upon a time it was James insisting that violence would solve their problem and now itās Teresa, while itās now James pointing out that itās a cycle you canāt break with more violence when before that wouldāve been Teresa.
