Hi! Anyone missed me? Probably not.
Request: Can I have a frank x male reader
I’m sorry for being inactive (not that many would miss me), but I had the ending of the school year and then 3 weeks without wifi. So here have a kinda overdue request. I hope you all like it, and please give me pointers if you find any.
Everything was a bit hectic. The feast of Fortuna is coming up, and in addition to the normal games and offerings Camp Jupiter would do, the Senate decided to put in a new activity, a prom. Because ever since the war with Gaia, Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter are trying to work together, or at least adjust a little. Which means when the Senate caught wind of the parties done at Camp-Half Blood, they wanted to try. I mean, it fits perfectly between military training, right? Instead of a party, the Senate decided to call it a prom because it ‘sounded more formal’.
But all this meant, of course, boy asking girls. And girls asking girls, girls asking boys, boys asking boys- you name it. This was also the reason why you were bugging your dear friend Frank on who he was going to ask. Maybe you had hopes he would ask you, maybe he wanted to ask someone else – like Hazel for example. Either way, you wanted to know.
‘C’mon, Frank. Just tell me!’ Frank, a blushing mess by now, just shook his head. ‘No! Just, I first want to ask alright?’ You moved closer to Frank, who was sandwiched between you and the wall. ‘When are you going to ask?’ you whispered to him suspiciously. Frank’s blush seemed to deepen, but you weren’t sure. ‘I-I…’ he stuttered. ‘You?’ you moved away and Frank took a breath. ‘I don’t know how to ask.’ He stated. You nodded slowly, ‘Just ask them?’ you inquired, but Frank shook his head. ‘It isn’t that easily. I am pretty sure that they won’t like me, because of various reasons, and I don’t want to ruin everything.’ Frank looked down. ‘They?’ you narrowed your eyes. Frank’s blush returned, but he remained silent. ‘Frank, who are they? Because I don’t know anyone that goes by those pronouns?’ Frank shook his head a little. ‘I-I don’t want to tell you what their gender is.’ You felt your stomach knot together. Why wouldn’t he tell you? He didn’t know you were gay- but it never came up. At least he should know your opinion on the matter, because you voiced that loud and clear.
In the meantime Frank was freaking out. He slipped- now you could figure out that he liked guys. Not just any guy though, he liked you. Frank did know you wouldn’t judge him for liking guys, but he didn’t want to scare you away. Because Frank liked how things were now- sure he wanted more, but you were comfortable enough around him to move close. To hug him, or waltz him between you and the wall like you had done just now. Because when you did, he could admire you from up close, how your eyes shined, the warmth coming from you, how you slightly smirked whenever he got nervous, how-
‘FRANK!’ said boy suddenly was shaken out of his trance. ‘Uhm- what?’ ‘You were gone for a minute there, buddy. I said I would help you ask, whoever it is. Alright?’ Frank nodded slowly, while also slowly regretting agreeing to you. How was he supposed to ask you, when you would help him?
‘Alright, plan A. Because you are way too nervous to ask, maybe you could just leave them a note. C’mon, make a note.’ You handed Frank a pen and paper, while he shyly nodded. Your hands brushed against each other, and you felt a bit of regret. Now that you’re helping him, he couldn’t like you. You let out a small sigh, as you glanced at Frank. Right at the moment, he looked up and handed you the note. ‘W-what do you think?’ he asked you. You looked down, and read the note.
‘Would you like to go to prom with me? ⃝ Yes ⃝ No’
You looked back at Frank. ‘That’s perfect, buddy! Go get them!’ you said, handed back the note, turned around and walked away, feeling a lump in your throat.
Meanwhile, Frank stared at your retreating figure, clearly understanding the misunderstanding. Right now, he thought his legs would give in because of the amount of nerves he just had. He then groaned. ‘Why? Why can’t I just ask him?’
During dinner you saw Frank sitting at the back of the dining hall. You made your way over to him, and plopped down on the low couch, waiting for the wind spirits to bring you food. ‘So, how did it go?’ Frank sighed. ‘They, didn’t understand and walked away.’ You cocked your head to the side. ‘How didn’t they understand? I mean, it was a pretty straight forward question.’ Frank just looked downwards. You grabbed his chin, and made him look up and towards you. ‘Alright, Frankyboy, this isn’t over. We have two days left until the prom, so two days to ask whoever you want to go with, alright?’ Frank blushed a little – like how he always did whenever someone (or was it just you?) came close. He nodded. ‘But, (Y/n), maybe I could just try on my own?’ He suggested. You pulled away, not noticing a small frown on Franks face, and chuckled. ‘oh my dear boy, if you could do it on your own, then why haven’t you done it earlier?’ You might not like it, that Frank likes somebody else, but you will make sure that he is happy.
So the next day came, with your next great idea. ‘Okay, Frank, all you got to do is go up to the person, with the sign in hands, say their name, and voila!’ You handed Frank the sign, which you of course had professionally crafted. ‘I am not sure about-‘ Frank started, just to be interrupted by you again ‘No! You can do it Frank! Now, I got to go, so good luck!’ ‘Where are you- never mind.’ You had already ran off. How could he ask you, when you weren’t there?
The only reason why you ran off so fast, was so you could spy on Frank. This time, you were going to make sure he asked the person. So when Frank started walking you silently followed him. Only to see him go somewhere where no one was. Frank sat down on a bench, with the sign next to him. He leaned backwards and sighed loudly. ‘I am such a disaster.’ He said ‘I will never be able to go to prom like this.’
This scene caused your heart to sink. Oh no, maybe Frank was serious about asking the person himself. Maybe you were ruining his chances like this? You shouldn’t do this. You should’ve just dropped the subject. You stood up from the bushes. ‘Hi Frank.’ You said quietly. Frank shot up. ‘Oh, hey (Y/n), what are you doing here? I thought you had to be somewhere.’ You shrugged ‘I-‘ you couldn’t tell him that you were following him ‘It was cancelled. Did you already ask them?’ Frank shook his head softly. ‘I see. Look, Frank, just so you know, if you don’t use my plan I won’t be offended.’ You sat down next to the sign. Frank looked at you. ‘No, I really appreciate you doing this for me.’ Frank said. You nodded sadly. ‘I figured.’ ‘But, (Y/n), I think the person I want to go with just doesn’t want to go with me.’ You looked at Frank in surprise. ‘Then they must be an idiot. Just, what if we go to prom together? Maybe you could sneak a dance with whomever you wanted to go with!’ Smooth, (Y/n). Still you felt bad. Frank seemed to light up at your question. ‘Sure! But won’t people think that we are, y’know, gay?’ Frank asked. This statement shot pain through your heart. ‘Who cares?’ you said with a big smile, kinda glad that you got to go to prom with Frank.
Everything was arranged. You and Frank in the end got matching suits. Still you didn’t like whatever you were feeling right now. You knew that Frank didn’t want to go to prom with you, and maybe you had sort of forced him to go with you? Maybe, during the night you could get him a dance with his crush, and then silently leave him be. It is for the best. Frank doesn’t like you, and he probably never will. All these thoughts swarmed your head, and with the nerves of going to prom with your crush, it wasn’t doing you any good.
You were standing awkwardly with Frank to the side of the dancefloor. ‘So, have you seen the person you wanted to ask yet?’ you asked Frank. He nodded and looked at you. Ever since Frank saw you that evening he has been silent. You took this as a sign that he wasn’t happy. On the contrary, Frank was delighted. He couldn’t stop daydreaming before the prom about the prom with you. You had asked him to go with him! And now, in a suit, you just looked way too handsome for him. The way the suit found its way around your body. The way your hair was done. Everything, it was perfect. The whole evening would be perfect. But then he was pulled out of his daydreaming.
‘You should go ask them to dance with you! I know that asking them before the prom didn’t work, but they must want to dance with you now.’ You smiled brightly, hiding the sadness inside you. ‘Oh, (Y/n) would you-‘ ‘Frank, I will be fine. Just go!’ and you pushed him onto the dance floor. You saw how Frank looked a bit lost and gave him a thumbs up, before turning around and walking to the toilets. This was it, you had done your job. The tears you had been holding up all night finally left your eyes as you entered one of the toilet stalls. You didn’t care now, if someone would hear you.
Frank had decided to just get himself a drink, then go back to you and confess. He needed some time to gather the courage. He knew you would probably turn him down, but he wanted to do it tonight. So after drinking some punch, he walked back to where he had left you, only to see your spot filled with different people. He started looking around, searching for you, worry filling him slowly. He saw Reyna standing of the side with some punch in her hand, and walked to her. ‘Hey, Reyna, have you by any chance seen (Y/n)?’ Frank nervously asked the preator. ‘I think he went to the toilet a while ago. Haven’t seen him since.’ ‘Thanks’ Frank said and he hurried to the bathroom.
When he entered the bathroom, he heard quiet sobs coming from one of the stalls. ‘(Y/n)?’ he asked. You froze. What was Frank doing here? Of everyone, why did he need to take a shit right now? You held in your sobs, looking at the door of your stall with panic. ‘(Y/n), are you alright?’ Frank apparently had moved to stand in front of your stall. You shook your head and crooked at a ‘fine’. Frank sighed. ‘(Y/n), please open the stall door.’ You shook your head once more, knowing that Frank couldn’t see that. ‘Please, I just want to help.’ You heard slight panic bleeding through his concerned tone. You took a deep breath. ‘I am fine Frank, just go back to the party, dance with who you want to dance.’ You closed your eyes. ‘But I want to dance with you.’ Frank spoke softly. You opened your eyes. ‘What?’ you whispered, believing that your ears were playing tricks on you.
‘(Y/n), I want to dance with you, I want to hold you, hug you, kiss you. I want to do so much more, I just never had the guts to tell you. I am so sorry I should’ve told you earlier, and I am so sorry, because I know you don’t feel the same I just didn’t – I didn’t want to change whatever beautiful thing we had. I didn’t want to- to lose you. I couldn’t- I’ You heard the tears coming in Franks tone. ‘I’m sorry’ you heard him stood up and before you knew it you had also stood up and opened the stall door with a swing. ‘Wait! Frank! Oh my Gods!’ you grabbed his arm and Frank turned around. You didn’t care that you looked like shit right now, you had to make this right. ‘Frank, oh gods, did you mean th- that?’ you asked him and Frank slightly nodded. You could see he was holding in tears. The biggest smile made it onto your face. ‘Frank! I am so glad that you feel the same way! Like holy-‘ than your smile fell. ‘Oh gods, Frank I am so sorry that I tried to get you together like that. Oh I just don’t know’ Frank looked at you with slight confusion. ‘Wait (Y/n), you also-?’ Frank felt a blush coming to his cheeks. The tears he was holding back coming out. ‘Yes Frank. I like you. Heck- I love you!’ you yelled out, new tears falling from your eyes. Frank looked at you with a smile. ‘I can’t believe it.’ He said and you looked at Frank, a whole new guy in your eyes. ‘(Y/n), would you like to go to prom with me?’ he asked you. ‘We’re already here, dude. But do you want to, I don’t know, dance? Hug? Kiss?’ ‘Yes’ he smiled and you chuckled.
