Aaaahhahahha I'm into Borderlands again. I binged Tales last night and now I'm on episode 4. I'm not ready to finish this game :((( I'll just play it again haha.
Don't worry, TRON community. I have my AU in a draft, I just need to write the end and whatnot. But.... Borderlands... Rhys... Jack... Gortys.... They call me.
(This is my screenshot btw, feel free to use it! No need to ask permission. I have a lot of screenshots and videos downloaded from my play throughs, if you need them then you can ask! I'll happily send them over! Especially if you're editing Rhack, I'm fawning over him like usual)
You aren’t well, Rhys
\@~@/
*shrug* I don’t even know anymore someone inspire me
Rhys was drifting, further and further and further away from anything he’d ever known and loved. He was sure of it. He’d watched Sasha and August kiss and hug and fall out and break up and make up and break up again and he’d watched Vaughn be flirted with by Sasha and he’d watched Janey and Athena marry and be happy together and Rhys wasn’t sure where he stood. He had watched them all go after another Vault without him, he’d watched Gortys be used to slam another monster to pieces and he’d watched as Vaughn had risen out on top. He’d watched everyone and everything blur around him, moving so fast he couldn’t keep up. He was drifting away and he wasn’t sure if they knew that.
He had been suffering headaches, nosebleeds, migraines and he knew something wasn’t right when he’d passed out walking along one of the corridors at Atlas. There was almost a pressure on his mind, something forcing him to be so ill and unwell and he didn’t know what it was. Of course, Rhys wasn’t the kind of guy to make a fuss. Or at least, he tried not to. He neglected to tell Vaughn, refusing to tell Fiona or Sasha no matter how much they asked if he was okay. Then they stopped asking almost all of a sudden. They passed him by without looking, not really, and they didn’t seem fazed by his health or lack thereof.
They didn’t care for Rhys anymore.
Naturally, Rhys knew this. He was well aware of Fiona’s evident hatred for him after he’d crippled Maliwan over a brutal business deal. He was well aware of Sasha’s disgust for his success. He was very well aware of how Vaughn was distancing himself from Rhys, all under the excuses that the Children of Helios needed him. Sure they did. Missing out on meetups they hadn’t had for a while for a petty issue with some babied Hyperion assholes.
Rhys growled as he punched the wall in his office, shaking and feeling the blood starting to drip from his nose. Except this time it was accompanied by warmth leaking from his eye and neural port. He was sure of it. They were bleeding too. His mechanical arm gave an almost sickening hiss and it soon just came off, hitting the floor with a dull thud. Blood was leaking from the socket, mixing with the hydraulic fluid and oil and creating a horrifying sight and yet Rhys wasn’t fazed by it. He knew he should have, he knew it was meant to scare him and he knew why it was happening. He could feel the pressure increasing in his head, throbbing and pressing down on all thoughts he had and instead laughing at him and his pathetic little life he’d tried to scrape together from the mess left behind after the Helios crash. It laughed, it taunted and it teased with nicknames.
Cupcake, kitten, pumpkin, kiddo, Rhysie, sweetheart, babe. Look at me. Look at me, Rhys. LOOK AT ME!!
Rhys had an urge to kill, to kill and prove he was alive and real and that he wasn’t just a lost string of code in a sea of nothingness. But he kept stuttering, stuttering again and again and always letting them go just as he was to put them out of their misery. Why couldn’t he kill? Why couldn’t he satisfy that urge?!
Blood dripped and he was sure ash was the thing he breathed out now, a burning smell thick on him and choking him and engulfing him and drowning him all at once. His cheek was drying with blood in sick little rivers of the stuff, his lips painted thoroughly with the cherry-red substance as it started to matt his neglected, tangled hair. Rhys didn’t care. It felt right. He felt alive somehow, even as he collapsed and hit his neural port so hard it began to spark. The sparks were catching on the lush rug he’d collapsed onto, starting burn away slowly before engulfing the room in flames and burning around Rhys without touching him as if it knew. As if it knew of the terror that could be unleashed if his body perished.
The flames climbed high and licked the ceiling and spread into the hallway outside the office. The smoke rose slowly and the alarms blared, the staff evacuating the building while numerous Loaders went back in to locate their CEO. Elbie moved up to the office immediately, chassis marking and singing as he forged through the flames and found Rhys on the floor port sparking, arm missing and actually melting into the floor and he was unconscious.
By the time Elbie had gotten him out the fire had raged uncontrollably and destroyed multiple Loaders, the few that had survived being called back out as every employee watched their entire lives burn before their eyes. All their hard work, their prototypes, their stock and their profit. Everything gone. Just as Hyperion had wanted.
HOLO JACK ECHO - Tales from the Borderlands / Vocaloid
It wasn’t supposed to be sad... But it kinda is in the end ? xD (blame my playlist for this, everything i hear is turned into something jack related~).
