Madrid is fabulous and it’s a ridiculous thing to say on day one of a five day trip, but I’m excited to come back here some day when it’s a good bit cooler so I can see more of it.
(Today’s high was 42 degrees, which google tells me is about 107 Fahrenheit. It's currently 38 degrees, which is a great deal hotter than I have ever experienced. Walking around outside is like being in a furnace, it’s genuinely difficult to breathe and moving from the shade to the sunlight is…not fun).
The good thing is I am staying near to most of the museums and stuff I want to visit and they have aircon, and because I couldn’t nap today I’m going to chill in the apartment, catch up on some fic and try the beer my host so generously left for me. I don’t know if I like beer but that’s because I’ve never tried it haha so we’ll see! At least I know now just how the heat affects things practically so i can plan accordingly 😊
I have the clothes I’m taking to Spain out so I can focus on remembering to pack stuff like my passport, meds and travel adaptor tonight. I just think it’s so funny that I’ll never get a chance to wear this stuff in Ireland!
