It’s the Little Ice Age. OR. The Great Winter, when the Pendragon’s are forced to bed down for a month under furs until the weather is warm again. Arthur’s only seen the Great Winter in babyhood. Now, he must find a proper Royal Bedwarmer to share his Winter’s rest with.

He wants to be tender and merciful. That sounds overly valorous. Sounds like penance. (There’s really no need for a summary, this is just PWP)

Arthur shouldn’t be here, enjoying the fest of Beltane Night, disobeying his king, his father. But, he is because of Morgana, because he couldn’t allow letting her leave Camelot alone. Now, he is keeping watch over her but he doesn’t know that a young boy can’t keep his eyes from him.

Yule celebrations are forbidden in Camelot and Arthur is expected to uphold his father's laws. That means a long winter night passed in darkness while the rest of Camelot celebrates in secret. Arthur just wishes Merlin would stay with him.

There is a story that is not told in Ealdor anymore, not for many years now, a story about Beltane Eve.
