Peder Severin Krøyer's "Hip Hip Hurrah!" captures a joyful summer gathering in Skagen, Denmark. Friends raise their glasses beneath sunlit trees while sparkling light dances across the white tablecloth, turning an ordinary celebration into an unforgettable moment. Painted in 1888, the scene features Krøyer and his fellow artists from the famous Skagen colony, who came together to paint the remarkable northern light that made this coastal village legendary. 'Portrait of Holger Drachmann' as painted in 1902 by Peder Severin Krøyer in the Skagen community that sometimes is also called a plantation, sometimes called an artistic colony. Drachmann (1846 - 1908) was a Danish poet,, dramatist, and painter. His writings pass the Amazon test of still being in print today, but mainly in German, Danish, Swedish and Finnish. There was one English translation of his short stories.

-
Spring air is pouring in here again From the distant Banks of the West: The proud clouds tower Like giant thoughts; And towards the golden Royal Castle, High above the earth's distress and sorrow, With the spear at his side, With the exaggerated Nostril, The white bosom so full, so big - I see the Valkyrie riding.
And ride and travel through Valhalla to With your round shanks, And swing your spear and strike your heel In the horse's drowsy flanks! Your distant, golden royal castle, High above the earth's distress and sorrow, It is not, you must know, The goal that I can wish for, And you are not my Valkyrie, How fast you can ride!
Spring air is pouring in here again Through my thoughts, I swallow the Sea Breeze From the distant Banks of the West; And by my side sway and rank, With the eye stone mischievous and shiny, An attitude without equal, With proudly flared nostrils, The high bosom behind the flora of the dress - Does she go, my beautiful girl.
How we go on foot, the two of us? No, we're going up to ride; Hello, Stable Boy, lead my Ganger forward With the hanger at his side! And then, my Glut, come here â take hold â Up in the saddle, with a feather in your hat And the Veil before the Wind - To Per Adieu, to Povl Goodnight, Now we blast off, my darling, With the blush of life on the cheek!
You carry your riding whip well, I lead my Sheath well, We cut in - and all the while I play on my lyre; My String has a sound like a bowstring, With loud nostrils You swallow the Tone's Breeze - Jump, hi, holla! of the road there, We come as the Lord's weather The Valkyrie and my Sage!
