HOKA ONE ONE Pledges 5,000 pairs of shoes for COVID-19 Relief
According to HOKA ONE ONE®
A division of Deckers Brands, announces the launch of their Front Line Give Back Program to benefit those fighting COVID-19 directly. As part of this initiative, HOKA will work with retail partners to donate 5,000 pairs of shoes directly to healthcare workers on the front lines of national relief effortsacross the country. The footwear brand known for its signature maximal-cushion, minimal-weight design hopes its shoes can provide comfort and support for front-line workers enduring long shifts and hours on their feet. HOKA’s valued retail partners will place the product directly in the hands of doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers by identifying beneficiary organizations in their regions. To launch the program, HOKA joined forces with retail partner JackRabbit to supply over 400 pairs of shoes to two severely-impacted hospitals in the New York and New Jersey area.
“Right now, front line medical workers are faced with a tremendous battle, and we are here to support them however we can,” said Wendy Yang, President of HOKA ONE ONE. “Their job is to save lives, which makes manufacturing and selling footwear seem trivial by comparison, but we hope by donating these shoes we can help provide some assistance and relief during this incredibly strenuous and demanding time.”
In addition to HOKA’s footwear donation, Deckers Brands [NYSE: DECK], parent company of HOKA, has established the Santa Barbara Better Together Fund at the Santa Barbara Foundation to help provide economic support to the community of greater Santa Barbara, where Deckers has been based for over 47 years. From this, one grant has been awarded to Women’s Economic Ventures (WEV), an organization aimed at empowering women business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs and currently working to provide emergency financial assistance to small businesses during COVID-19The fund also calls for other community leaders to contribute to small businesses and deliver vital supplies during this time. As announced last week, HOKA’s parent company, along with the entire portfolio of brands, has committed over $1 million dollars to the fight against COVID-19.
