i still don’t have nate’s bio up but... i feel like rambling bout something.
killing people fills some sort of satisfaction to him in post-apocalyptic world. the way he says that there’s no rules, no laws in this world & in a way. i feel like that has been the only thing stopping him from doing so before. perhaps it has to do with being in control - choosing who lives or dies, being god in that sense.
some could argue it’s purely because of survival in post-apocalyptic world, that he’s being selfish but not necessarily a monster for wanting to live in a cruel world. but being able to put down even defenseless people as coldly & casually as he does, it just doesn’t sit right.
however, he does get attached to certain people & even expresses his emotions when he loses a friend VERY aggressively (as it is seen in canon). he’s very trusting with russell as he even offers his handgun to him in order to protect them, even when they have known each others for only a day. he very much craves to be around someone, was it genuine friendship or someone to use purely for his own benefit.
