So I used to have a small group of Madagascar hissing roaches, all was well until they started passing away. I will admit, it was my fault. Life got busy and I was in a depressive episode, I could barely take care of myself, let alone another life. It isn't an excuse, just an explanation. Now that I'm better I've set up a plan for if this ever happens again, and I'm so sorry to the lives I've neglected.
Well, last night I decided that I'd look through their enclosure and clear it out, but I found out that one of them had survived. I cleaned out her home, and gave her some food and water. She seems to be doing a lot better. Later today I'm going to my local invert and reptile store to get her some friends and some springtails to help clean up.
I named her Mary, her name was originally going to be Mahery; which means strong in Malagasy, the language most spoken in Madagascar. But I couldn't find a pronunciation of it and I was scared to butcher it so Mary it is.
