We often split a drink from the vending machine when we had enough loose change in our pockets,

sharing the curved edge of the bottle like it was nothing.

But since the moment we met, I knew you'd be my whole world.

I acted so brashly, holding you close all of a sudden.

The empty juice bottle rolled down the hill, unable to stop once it fell out of my hand.

You were even braver, leaving a gentle kiss on my lips. I could taste a subtle sweetness as the word formed over my mouth.

Like something out of a movie, we held hands as the petals showered over us like confetti.

every spring,

as the trees start to bud,

I just want to cry. Although my expression remains still like a doll.
