Let's yap about the Toku-uchi Heroes Detective Conan BRAIN PACK, which is a combination of two pieces of software made by SOURCENEXT; Detective Conan Toku-uchi Heroes: THE BRAIN (2006) and Detective Conan IQ (2005). Toku-uchi Heroes Detective Conan: THE BRAIN is a typing game. Given that I can't read Japanese at all, it makes it a bit difficult for me to cover a Japanese typing game (again, I'm mostly here to archive things). Though I imagine this could be an interesting software to look into for Detective Conan fans learning Japanese.
There's a map that unlocks more games as you progress (in QWERTY order) that features different locations throughout the series. Each location has an associated game mode with it. There are six different mini games (roughly translated).
Shiritori Typing (しりとりタイビング): Shiritori with Professor Agasa
Mental Math Typing (暗算タイピング): Addition with Ai Haibara
Follow and Type (尾行タイピング): Tail Kogoro Mouri
Focus Typing (タイプでピント): Focus the Telescope and Guess the Item with Heiji
Question and Answer Typing (Q&Aタイピング): Answer Inspector Megure's Questions
Memory Typing (記憶タイピング): Memorize Names in Order with KID
Each game has three levels of difficulty: pre-elementary, elementary, and adult.
There is an additional typing test minigame too that's playable if you can't read Japanese (you can have the crunchiest gif of the soccer typing test as a treat).
For this particular CD, I've only managed to get it running on my Windows XP virtual machine. It also crashes when trying to play half of the games (Agasa, Ran, and Heiji). Now I imagine the cause of this problem could be the same as what I'm dealing with the other CD.
In an awkward turn of events, I couldn't actually run Detective Conan IQ myself, but it feels weird to not talk just a bit about it. Regardless, I still want to upload the files to the Internet Archive since I'm sure it's mostly a troubleshooting problem on my end rather than the CD itself. (I probably don't have the right dependencies installed for my VM and I think it'll be more trouble than it's worth to go through finding them more than I've already have.)
There's still some images in the program files I can grab for Detective Conan IQ so I'll share them here for fun.
ANYWAYS running it myself doesn't really matter! Luckily, unlike last time, there's already full gameplay footage out there for these two games. If you're curious to see more, please check out the videos below!
These two games have been rereleased by SOURCENEXT as part of a larger collection in 2017. That collection, which includes four games, was made to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first game in the series. In fact, you can actually buy and download the collection from SOURCENEXT's website, and it runs on a modern OS (I think it may just be Windows).
Now upon discovering that, would you imagine this to be maybe a pointless adventure for me? Perhaps! Even so, since the two games have yet to be archived, I figured I might as well.

stumbled on someone's tweet, so I'm thinking about rooftop scene again. Scotch's death is really a shame, that he chosen to trigger the gun in his hands before identifying it was his best friend who's came running. But at that time; Scotch was already planned to end himself no matter what, he even sent his last message to Rei, who, I bet will desperately tried to find him and it could end up like Hondo's incident; the one who closed to them is the one ending them. He was willing to sacrificed himself to protect his loved ones, but something outside of his plan came up and it's Rye, who revealed his true identity and even offered help to him, Scotch could be thinking that if he goes with Akai's plan, disappear for a while, faking his death, maybe he could protect them. But then, someone running up the stairs, there could be two or more possibility; it could be Rye's accomplish, maybe he lied about him being an FBI, or someone from BO is catching up on them. Now not only friends and family that he wanted to protect, but there's also one other person he can't dragged them down with him too; Akai Shuichi, a NOC like him. Scotch can't risk that.

Elena flips through the patient records and finds the one she wants, pulling it out to check the examination results from last month and frowning slightly as she compares it with the results from today, making calculations within her mind. She jots down a quick note of some information for Atsushi to deliver to the patient tomorrow. He has always been more comfortable with handling various social interactions than her. Well, she's gotten better since her teenage days - and isn't that something? Mary would probably be surprised to see her improvement, not that Elena has seen her in quite a while - but it's just easier and simpler to let him do it. First time patients - and even the non-first time ones, honestly - automatically assume she's just the assistant, and want to hear their questions answered by him because it sounds more professional.
It suits her, actually, to take on the quieter role, handling the non-interactive parts of the job. Administrative tasks. Counting the inventory and making sure to clear out the expired medicines, tracking which ones they need to place an order again. Pharmaceutical work - well, as much pharmaceutical work that a small clinic like theirs requires, anyway.
She misses the Shirohato Pharmaceuticals days, sometimes. Before it went bankrupt and she and Atsushi decided to open their own clinic. Misses the research they were doing there, the bold idea they were testing out - still at the very early stages with nothing concrete to show, but they had a direction, they had ideas they were planning to try, theories worth digging deeper into - well, that's all in the past, now.
