Triton: Technically, that’s not my fault! It's entirely your youngest sons doing. I am completely innocent in this matter.

Poseidon: … I doubt that, but I'll deal with you later. Percy, Tyson. Explain.

Percy: He was nice to Tyson so I befriended him and took him swimming with the hippocampi with us. Do you know how rare it is to find people that show the minimal basic decency to cyclops - far less treat him kindly?

Tyson: He was really, really nice with Rainbow and when I had to return home for curfew Rainbow started crying because she didn't want to leave-

Percy: And then the human got sad because he thought we were a hallucination and thought he'd never see us again. Which made Tyson start crying-

Tyson: So I altered a diving suit to help survive the water pressure and brought him home with me!

I'm taking a short break from two tailed goddesses to admire some hippocampi and other mythical creatures, created by the surrealist painter Leonora Carrington. A few weeks ago, I saw a biography of her by her son in a bookshop, and bought it. In it, I saw this lovely painting of a female hippocampus, a half horse, half human aquatic hybrid:

Then I went looking for similar images by her, and found this statue:

And since a trio seems appropriate, because she sometimes painted triptych screens, here's a third work by her:

Winged ram, 1958.

I want to do a longer post on Carrington, as there's an interesting work she did of sirens I want to look at. But today, let's just admire these images.
