He wasnt sure who was more surprised by that honesty, Teak or himself. But if his sun was going to be that open, Apollo figured he might as well answer without obfuscating or dancing around it.
âYes.â he nodded, offering an arm to his son in case Teak wanted some physical comfort. âIts occured to me over the past few millenia. But Lethe isnt precise, usually. Its usually an all or nothing deal, and I dont know if I could give up all the good memories I have.â

âHey, Teak!â Annabeth has to jog to catch up with the other demigod, grimacing at how quickly it makes her breathless as she does. Sheâs gotten out of shape lately, and itâs something that tends to annoy her more than anything else. She takes a moment to catch her breath. âYou wouldnât happen to know who smeared mashed potatoes all over the front of Cabin Eight, would you?â
âOkay, so chips are down and you gotta bang one monster to save camp. Which do you pick?â She picked through her gummy bears for flavors she wanted as she waited eagerly for his answer. This was a subject that Nell herself had thought about, perhaps, a bit too much- whether it was for laughs or she was way too serious about it was anyoneâs guess.
One did not need to possess social embodiment to tell that Valentina was feeling sad on that particular day. She had picked up the latest vogue magazine to judge the fashion designers and get inspiration for her new collection but instead of cool ideas she had came across a whole spread featuring her father. What a way to remind her that Rafael was thriving in his career while not giving a care in the world about his daughter.Â
She sighed before looking at Teak. â You know what would like totally cheer me up ? â Apart from having a father who actually wanted her in his life. â If you took your shirt off. â Cute boys were a good distraction. â Or way better, shoot arrows at pictures of my dad while shirtless. â Â
Looking Nick straight in the eye and tossing another tater tot in his mouth, Teak shook his head. âNo, Iâm eating my tater tots.â While he definitely had gotten tater tots himself, the container had almost been empty a minute ago. Now it was full to the top. Or mostly full as Teak ate another tater tot.
DARK GREEN EYES squint dangerously. Was Nick a little stupid? Maybe. On a good day, maybe he had like, twenty brain cells all to himself. This wasnât a good day, either. But he took his food seriously, especially fried potato products like tater tots. And those were definitely his tater tots.

@highnoonbrightâ  / desserts is stressed spelled backwards, anyway.
âTeak!âÂ
Katie calls out to the son of Apollo, hoping to grab his attention. After having decided to offer her siblings as well as her fellow campers some desserts, Katie had been informed that a few more campers are still at the archery range, including Teak. Peanut butter cookies, brownies, fudge, chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, funfetti cookies... even to those that might not know her well, itâs abundantly clear that Katie has been stress baking.Â
âYou ... are Teak, right? ... well, anyway --- would you like some desserts? I made a little too much, so Iâm offering to those that want some!â
1. Ask Elliot what his favorite past time was, and he would quickly reply with bugging Teak. Hands down. Now ask him why and heâd answer with a shrug and an âI donât know, itâs fun?â And it was, at least to him, the blonde wasnât sure he could say the same for hisâŚfriend. Friend. That word left a bitter taste in his mouth, even the thought of it made the tall blonde grumble and growl at the thought of it. He hated that word. There were so many mixed emotions that he associated with that word, along with a few unnamed emotions he couldnât pin point; rather a few he didnât want to name. Sometimes it was those exact unnamed feelings that kept him up till the crack of dawn. It was early morning at camp, but Elliot was already awake, letting out tired sighs and frustrated groans. Two hours of sleep, that wasnât anything new. Heaving a big sigh the male ran a hand over his tired eyes, resting his forearms on his thighs, head hanging down low. He really hated the nights he didnât get sleep, it made him cranky, and less joyful than usual, a side he really didnât want to show anyone. His eyes slid closed only to quickly pop open upon the sound of heavy, rapid knocking. âGET THE HELL UP!â An annoyed voice filtered through his door and Elliot let out a loud groan, his way of showing Teak that he wasnât going to be opening the door anytime soon. âGO THE HELL AWAY!â Elliot shouted back, falling back against his bed, body briefly bouncing against the springs. The continuous pounding (which he suspected) signaled that his friend wasnât going away anytime soon. There it was, that vile word, friend.  How he loathed that word. When the consistent pounding finally became enough, like always, the blonde haired male finally stood up and strode over to the door, throwing it open. Now being greeted with a screeching Teak so early in the morning was not something Elliot was fond of, used to, but not fond of. All of the words were going in one ear and out the other. He was pretty sure he had heard something about chariot practice but the rest just turned into garble. Squeezing his eyes shut the maleâs fingers flew to his temples, rubbing them to try and relieve the oncoming headache. When the screeching stopped Elliot opened his eyes and glanced at the male who was shorter than him by two inches. Blue eyes trailed down to the parted lips, watching more words he couldnât comprehend at the moment leave those perfect lips. Without truly realizing what he was doing, Elliotâs hand darted out and wrapped around the back of Teakâs neck, drawing the brunette male closer to him. His lips pressed against his, eyes fluttering closed. The feeling of Teakâs lips sliding against his own was more than he ever could have dreamed of. Finally pulling back Elliot was a bit breathless, but there was the tiniest of grins tugging at the corners of his lips. âBout time you shut up.âÂ
2. The sun was high in the sky and sweat beaded along the blondeâs forehead. His sword glinted in the sun, steel ringing out across the field when it came in contact with another one. âCâmon now, youâre not focusing.â The tip of his blade pointed at Teakâs throat, lightly pressing into the flesh. He could see the look of a challenge in the other maleâs face, a small chuckle leaving his own lips as he let the sword fall and Elliot stepped back. âAlright, letâs go again.â There was a light in his blue eyes, one that rivaled the other maleâs slightly hateful ones. âCâmon letâs go, wonât get any better if you donât practice.â Elliot circled around the slightly shorter male, eyes narrowing just a bit. âFocus your mind, just focus.â There was a caution to his voice, a steadiness to it before lunging like a predator at his prey. Metal rang against metal once more, a child like grin spreading across the blonde maleâs features. âThere you go.â He huffed out as he jumped back, bringing his sword to block the oncoming one. His feet were quick, reflexes even quicker as his sword smacked with Teakâs once more, circling around, the sound of metal grating against each other as the brown haired boyâs sword was knocked from his hand. Reaching out Elliot quickly snatched Teakâs hand and pulled him closer to him, pressing a chaste kiss to his lips. âYouâre getting better, thatâs your reward.â He chuckled.Â
3. Today is a good day. Elliot slept in, much to the dismay of his camp performance (not that he cared), and the annoyance of other campers probably. Strolling around camp, it was a warm day, but it wasnât the excruciating heat that made him want to die. Nope, it was perfect, not too hot, not too cold, not to mention there was no sign of an angry Teak. Of course Elliot didnât mind an angry Teak, it was rather fun to ruffle his feathers, but from time to time it was rather nice to get a break. Hands laced behind his back Elliot continued to walk around camp, taking in his surroundings and watching as other kids ran about. Today is a good day. Blue eyes trailed over to the archery field where he spotted a familiar brown headed male andâŚsome random kid? One that was obviously way to close to the guy, and seemed to be smiling way too much as well. Did he just flirtatiously touch Teakâs arm? Correction, today was a good day. There was a little green monster that started to claw up Elliotâs throat, and his hands curled into fists, a flash of annoyance crossing his features. Now it wasnât that Teak wasnât allowed to have other friends, because he was. Elliot wasnât some ass that stated the other couldnât have friends, but sometimes seeing others be soâŚso flirty with the male just got him so riled up. It wasnât really a side that he took pride in. Before he could stop himself, the blondeâs feet were moving on their own, carrying him closer to Teak and the other male. He had to force the urge to snap that boyâs neck back down from where it came from. âThere you are!â He called out with a fake smile plastered on his features, conceal donât feel running through his mind. âIâve been looking for you everywhere.â Finally Elliot shifted his attention to the other male as if he had just noticed that he was there. âOh hello, you must be new. Iâm Elliot, and unfortunately I have to pull Teak away for a second.â Quite frankly he didnât care if that boy was new or not, he didnât care that he was probably pulling Teak away against his will. All he knew was that he was full of jealousy and bitter rage that was hard to quell. He didnât like being this person, it made him feel gross and possessive. And maybe he was to an extent, deep down, but that wasnât the point. The point was that he would like it to stay deep down. When they were finally away from prying eyes, the blond whirled on the brunette, tugging his arm and bringing him closer till his lips crashed upon Teakâs. It was a little needy, and full of feelings that even Elliot couldnât put into words. Finally pulling back he looked at Teak, a look of panic quickly passing over his features. âS-sorryâŚI uh, I donât know what came over me.âÂ
4. Today was a lazy day, at least for Elliot it was. He was declaring that today was going to be a nice mental health day. Screw the training and stupid arts and crafts, all he wanted to do was lay in bed, maybe take a few cat naps here and there. The best part? The blond male had even managed to talk Teak into just staying in his cabin with him. Granted he didnât necessarily say how long he was going to be here, but he still managed to lure him here and that was all that mattered. With light filtering through the window, the six foot two male shifted so that his arm was draped over the other maleâs chest. His eyes were closed and he breathed in Teakâs scent that was becoming all so familiar to him. This was perfect, this was absolute bliss. âThanks for spending time with me.â He muttered as he moved to press a kiss to the brunetteâs temple. âAnd for not yelling at meâŚyet.â A small chuckle left his lips as he moved to press another kiss to his forehead. âI think Iâm gonna take a nap, take one with me.âÂ
5. Sitting at the campfire for the night, Elliot watched with a bemused smile as campers ran about or sat on logs singing songs. He watched as old campers helped integrate the new campers, made sure they were comfortable. His eyes shifted to watch as the Stoll brothers set up a new prank for their next victim, or how kids just ate food and talked like normal kids at a camp. Then again, when he thought about it, this was their normal. It was peaceful though, being able to sit here without the worries about losing their lives, or monsters constantly coming after them. For most this was their safe haven, a home away from home for others. Tonight was lively, kids dancing and chatting, laughing about whatever they had planned tomorrow. Elliot liked nights like this. Feeling a body next to him, blue eyes blinked and turned to look over at the intruder of his thoughts, noticing it was Teak. âHey.â He smiled softly, shifting his attention back to the crackling fire. He rolled the cup that was in his hands back and forth, letting his thoughts consume him once more until the brunette questioned what he was thinking about. âIâm justâŚthinking about things. Itâs nice to see everyone so content.â He gave a shrug of his shoulders. âSometimes I think we forget what itâs like to be children, constantly bogged down with training or the pressure to go on quests or shit like that.â He gave a shrug of his shoulders, turning to look at him. âI just think itâs nice to see everyone so carefree.â There was a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. Maybe they were never going to be truly normal, but right now this was enough. In fact, it was more than enough. Leaning in Elliot pressed a gentle kiss to Teakâs lips, letting it linger for a bit before pulling back. The slightly taller male couldnât help but chuckle when the other questioned what that was for, and he only shrugged his shoulders. âJust kind of felt like it, now shut up and let me do it again.âÂ
