Take The High Road
The next section in Matthew is Chapter 5, The Beatitudes. The Beatitudes are blessings and my study bible describes it this way… “Blessed here refers to the ultimate well-being and distinctive spiritual joy of those who share in the salvation of the kingdom of God.” The Beatitudes are connected to Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. What goes around, comes around
I've always been of the mind that if people are being mean, something is happening in their life that they're having a hard time processing. I was bullied pretty badly as a little kid through middle school. I always felt bad for myself, but I also felt bad for the kids who bullied me because I knew something bad was going on in their lives. I also believed that they would, at some point, receive something similar as the worlds way of karma.
The world has come to a complete circle for a girl I knew in elementary-HS, who lived close to me and had the same friends, would purposefully not invite me to things, make the other kids not play with me at recess, ect. She wrote on her facebook that her little daughter was trying to play with girls and the girls were running away from her and saying, "she won't leave me alone" and then apparently pushed the daughter away. I wish I could say that this makes me feel better about the years of bullying, but it doesn't, because just like me, that little girl is feeling that horrible feeling of rejection. I guess I just really hope this event makes the mom [a bully] think about her own actions more clearly... but I really do hope she got whatever help she needed in life and I hope her daughter finds friends who accept her for her!
