In preparation for my 2018 goals, (yes I just referenced 2018 😱)I have been digitizing my designs. This is something that I’ve been playing at for a while. For Someone creatively ADD like me, block printing is the perfect medium because it is very restrained. I’m restricted to the exact motif of the block I carved, placed on the exact spot I have chosen, in the exact color I used. What’s done is done. Digitizing opens up an overwhelming amount of choices. I could literally work on the same design for EVER and never finish. Knowing when to call it done is key. This is one reason why I have mostly stuck to producing by hand (besides the fact that hand-printed just has more soul). However, in order to grow, I must slay the choice monster.
