Being a business owner has made me grow in numerous ways and today as I was glancing through a few books that I periodically dig into I had a thought. The things I've learned over this last year of having my own business have taught me so much more than I learned in 6 years of college. I realize that's not the case for everyone maybe I'm just a little slower to learn lessons. Regardless, I'm so grateful for the timing of these lessons. One of my favorites is that a dream is God's whisper to you in the direction of your future. Do you have a deep burning dream or passion? Don't ignore it. Someone needs to be encouraged and you will be the one they need to hear it from. Ask. Seek. Knock. And the doors will open. God is waiting for you to be ready. Full of fear? Can I take a moment to be real and ENCOURAGE you? Dreams come true one step at a time. In reflection of my decision to pursue health & fitness I've learned so many beautiful & tough lessons along the way. Here's a great one. When my coach approached me about this opportunity I had other things on my mind. I had other goals and plans then slowly those all started falling apart before my eyes. I was so sad, then I secretly considered this opportunity for a few weeks because I was afraid to say yes. I was more hesitant about a $40 dollar commitment than anything but then I laughed when I thought about how I spent THOUSANDS of dollars in college without a care in the world. Even still I took longer than I should have to sign up as a coach, maybe out of fear or maybe out of pure lack of confidence in myself. But guess what I’ve learned, fear is never telling the truth. Fear creates reasons for you to stay stuck in the back seat while it takes control of your life. And what is it that you’re fearing, failure? Because guess what failure won’t kill you. Failure is progress. It means that you actually had the COURAGE to go through and try something. Failure has been given such a negative connotation when in actuality it exudes strength.
