Happy Birthday to you, Doug “Dough Dominator” Eiffel
And to many, many more
Me when hera wolf 359 👁️👁️
One thing that really upsets me is that Hera, Rhea, Enlil, and Eris never get to meet each other. As far as I can remember, none of the AIs ever get to interact, befriend, or meet another AI throughout the entire podcast. They never get to meet anyone else who understands what it’s like to be them.
Rhea and Eris know about each other, but even then, Eris just says Rhea is worried about them. It’s never clear whether they actually talk, although Rhea seems to care about Eris, and defends her in the end by reminding the crew that she only did what she did to them because of her programming. 💔
i wish i drew more, bc the way i imagine hera is so different to the way other people in the fandom draw her, and i just think that it would be really cool to play with the style of drawing humans when it appears to an ai.

hera is such a fun character because her role evolves in so many ways. she is so many things to so many different people and her dynamic with them can be interpreted in so many ways.
just looking at hera and eiffel, you could find so many angles to their dynamic. there is an undeniable affection and love, marred by damage that eiffel's caused, strengthened by his efforts to regain trust. it really can be paralleled to both his dynamic with ann as his daughter AND kate as his ex. like on the one hand eiffel has a friendly bond with hera where they joke and argue and he is protective over her, a young woman who suffers a tbi because of the selfish actions of a man responsible for her care - *parallels much*? On the other hand, you can also cast his interactions in a more romantic light if you are so inclined, and can even see shades of the dismissiveness that he likely showed kate - he calls hera a wind up doll, he dismisses her personhood, just as he dismisses kate as both monster and princess...
but possibly unlike what we see with kate, eiffel grows with hera, and he tries so hard to meet her needs, to be a better person, to listen when she speaks. yeah it takes shut up and listen - but he finally does shut up and listen and show up and support her.
and when he puts himself on the line? and risks himself for her? GOD that could be interpreted in so many ways.
that's why wolf is so fun. the relationship dynamics are complicated and have nuance. they can really be reflected in so many ways. witu eiffel, to eiffel, hera can be a romantic interest. a best friend. a daughter.

In one world, Douglas Eiffel, Lieutenant Commander Renee Minkowski, Dr. Alexander Hilbert, and Sensus Unit 214, also known as Hera, were sent on a research mission, seven and a half lightyears away from Earth. In one world, their ship was torn apart by hostile forces and mutinies. In one world, Dr. Alana Maxwell was killed, alongside Dr. Alexander Hilbert. In one world, Douglas Eiffel did not make it back to Earth.
But in another world, they had a second chance.
Under the command of Colonel Warren Kepler and Lieutenant Colonel Renee Minkowski, Douglas Eiffel, Dr. Alexander Hilbert, Sensus Unit 214, Daniel Jacobi, and Dr. Alexander Maxwell were as the crew on the maiden voyage of the Hephaestus station. With the full crew of Earth's greatest talents, the Hephaestus was equipped for a 3 year rotation; one dedicated to the furthering of the human race itself.
However, as strange events fall into place, this crew is faced with a galactic game, one even more frightening Funzo, where their very lives stand as the prize. Will they play their cards right? Or will this Hephaestus, too, fall to tragedy?

It has been nearly three years since the fantastic conclusion to Wolf359. Even with the passage of time, though, I still love this classic audio drama. This roleplay hopes to give Wolf359 fans a chance to act as their favorite characters, as while weaving a new story for them!
Anyone is welcome to join the server. Please note that there will be spoilers for all episodes of Wolf359.

Thinkin ‘bout W359 and Hera, and how she knows there was an AI in charge of the Hephaestus before her, knows she’s not the first to run it’s systems and check its diagnostics, anything she’s done, someone did before her. Even her name just an anagram, a twisted nod to those who came before. And now that someone is gone. She died and Hera was forced into her shell. This place wasn’t built for her, it was built for someone long gone. And now Hera’s being, her very existence, every line of code she runs every scan she does, every time she even tries to think of the concept, she does it from inside her sisters grave.
