The Hephaestus mission did not go as planned. In fact, it veered about as far off course as it possibly could have-- Further off course than Douglas Eiffel’s own careening space pod. However, after mutinies, deaths, and alien encounters, a fractured group manages to return to Earth.

In one world, not everyone made it.

In another, in this world, Colonel Warren Kepler made it out alive, and Doctor Maxwell survived her shot to the head. However, even escaping death, this fractured crew now stands to face a greater problem:

Finding out what to do next.

With the Urania approaching Earth, carrying aboard two Goddard Futuristics leads with grievous injuries to their minds, these traumatized spacefarers must now find out how to restart their old lives. But, with a crazed technology company on their tails, can their lives ever truly be normal again?

After unfortunately not gaining much in our original run, I’m trying again for another Wolf359 roleplay, this one taking place after the original run of the show! With most members going inactive, we are currently looking for the following characters:

Captain Isabela Lovelace

Any of Lovelace’s original crew

Any additional Goddard Futuristics staff (aside from Cutter and Pryce)

Any other characters (family members, background characters)

In one world, Douglas Eiffel, Lieutenant Commander Renee Minkowski, Dr. Alexander Hilbert, and Sensus Unit 214, also known as Hera, were sent on a research mission, seven and a half lightyears away from Earth. In one world, their ship was torn apart by hostile forces and mutinies. In one world, Dr. Alana Maxwell was killed, alongside Dr. Alexander Hilbert. In one world, Douglas Eiffel did not make it back to Earth.

But in another world, they had a second chance.

Under the command of Colonel Warren Kepler and Lieutenant Colonel Renee Minkowski, Douglas Eiffel, Dr. Alexander Hilbert, Sensus Unit 214, Daniel Jacobi, and Dr. Alexander Maxwell were as the crew on the maiden voyage of the Hephaestus station. With the full crew of Earth's greatest talents, the Hephaestus was equipped for a 3 year rotation; one dedicated to the furthering of the human race itself.

However, as strange events fall into place, this crew is faced with a galactic game, one even more frightening Funzo, where their very lives stand as the prize. Will they play their cards right? Or will this Hephaestus, too, fall to tragedy?

It has been nearly three years since the fantastic conclusion to Wolf359. Even with the passage of time, though, I still love this classic audio drama. This roleplay hopes to give Wolf359 fans a chance to act as their favorite characters, as while weaving a new story for them!

Anyone is welcome to join the server. Please note that there will be spoilers for all episodes of Wolf359.

Though Wolf 359 ended almost 3 years ago, it is still a fantastic series, and one that I, personally, am currently relistening to. This blog was created to, hopefully, organize a discord roleplay based on Wolf 359.

Plot

- The roleplay will begin at the same point as Wolf 359 episode one. No major plot points have happened yet, and each character only knows as much as they did at the start.

- I am not sure of exactly how the roleplay should start, but I have, more or less, narrowed it down to two options. In the first, the story would begin pretty much exactly as it did in episode one. Eiffel, Minkowski, Hilbert, and Hera would be the only people on the station, in this scenario, and the others would arrive over time. In the second option, both the Hephaestus crew (Eiffel, Minkowski, Hilbert, and Hera) and the SI-5 (Jacobi, Kepler, and Maxwell) would be present on the station from the start, with Lovelace appearing later.

- Either of these options would be fun, I just want to know what characters others want to play

- The plot of the roleplay will likely not follow the plot from the podcast. The plot itself will be driven both by the characters, as well as certain events. I would be designing and controlling these events, as a sort of DM.

The Roleplay

The roleplay would take place entirely in a discord server, through text. There would be both texting (group chats and personal messages) as well as in-person scenes.

There is no wordcount minimum of any sort. Scenes in which the characters are texting, mainly group chats, would act just as normal texting. Scenes would be done in more of a narrative, 3rd person style, but don’t worry about your writing skills. The goal isn’t to write a novel, it’s just to have fun!

Characters will be decided on a first come first serve basis.
