#her fire

it’s finally here! the Tabula Idem Kickstarter has launched and i’m so happy to announce that i’m contributing to it!

Her Fire is my very first time participating in a comic anthology, and i’d like to extend my sincerest thanks to Iris and Mia for allowing me the opportunity to participate in this project! creating a comic to put into print alongside a lot of very talented artists was very daunting but i’m so happy i did it!

She thought she knew longing— the quiet ache of midnight thoughts, the whisper of what-ifs.

Then he looked at her, and the fire she’d hidden for years rose to meet his gaze.

“Her Fire,” my story in the TABULA IDEM Anthology from all the way back in 2017 (but because of how anthologies work, i actually completed it in 2016). i was assigned the tarot of Aeon:  "Conscience, criticism. Making a final decision on a major, life-changing choice. Can refer to resurrection and awakening - wiping the slate clean.”

Her Fire is a comic i drew for TABULA IDEM - A Queer Tarot Comic Anthology back in 2016 / early 2017. the book is themed around the 22 Major Arcana, and i was assigned THE AEON (also known in some decks as JUDGEMENT), the arcana associated with destruction, growth, resurrection, and turning points

it’s an older comic for me so looking back on it is awkward, but it represents a lot of ‘firsts’ for me (first time in an anthology, first published piece) and i hold it dear to my heart. i hope you enjoy it!
