Garupe is stuck somewhere in a shabby small wooden church, that almost no one comes to, except maybe some old women. That means no money, and he's slowly dying from hunger, which no one notices and he never complains.

Henry isn't a believer, but maybe he needs a quiet place, where there are no drunk people and violence... And he just sits there deep in his thoughts, and then he hears this voice...

Well, this day Henry is the only parishioner. Garupe sees that he has a listener, who watches him intensely, with that bright blue (or green?) eyes, and the words flow, but the topic of the sermon kinda changes, less about damnation, more about love...
