Hi everyone so to keep everyone updated the DCF took away my and my sons benefits at the end of August this year.

Then they made further error and removed my son from my household entirely. I went to their office more times than I can count in these recent months (the phone number just hangs up on me after all the prompts) and even spoke to a supervisor (with some difficulties at first)

They have “fixed” my account but I won’t see the change until this shutdown is fully over.

I still have NO grocery money. We have been trying to utilize food banks, help from family, basically anything you can think of.

Any assistance would be amazing especially during this time as it’s the holidays and my partner and I are also supposed to be accounting for my son’s birthday in December too.

If you want a more extended version of our situation you can reffer to my last post thread from months ago, I decided to finally create this one as an updated version.

Summarizing and updating extremely quickly what has happened this last time: The humanitarian Parole is no longer available, The Darien has become way more dangerous and inaccesible to cross and the Panama goverment is going to get toughter, considering this is a mostly usamerican site I hope I don't have to mention what happened this month over there, and obviously there's certainty shit isn't going to get any better from this point onwards. Things have changed so much that my mother started considering emigrating to Spain.

As some of the people close to me know, I really dislike being in the necessity of e-begging without at least offering something in return to people helping me because I don't feel ok doing so otherwise. That's why in this post I have several avenues to help me depending on what anyone might preffer.

Our current plan is to keep saving as much as we can while we wait and hope for a relative of my father to present a Family Reunification TPS while there is still chance, if neither of those don't work or something happens, we'll help either him or my mother go to Spain instead. We are definitively not giving up, but that doesn't mean things didn't get harder.

I know money's tight these days, and I hate that I have to do this at all, but I'm getting desperate and there's not a lot of places that'll take me and my dog (for context I live in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, a heavily Muslim area. Dogs are considered haram, so it's a huge pain to find a landlord that will let me bring her with me).

Rent is paid per year and upfront here- it's a little over $1.5k for me. I got most of it- and let me tell you, as a uni student with no real job, it was hell scrimping and saving to make it- but I'm still about $400 short. My partner was supposed to help me make half of that rent, but ever since he got laid off he's had trouble finding work.. I ended up putting in my half of rent plus some of his but it's still not enough.

December was already pretty miserable- I lost my grandpa suddenly in a freak elevator accident and was shipped off immediately after to do my mandatory community service (graduation requirement). Shit way to start the new year, really.

Since I'm from a third world country every dollar really does count for a lot :") for scale, $5 USD converted to IDR would be enough to get me a steak at a nice restaurant. $400 USD is the equivalent to a little over a month's salary working in the capital city.
