. January 10, 2021 . . Good morning . Happy Sunday . . My Monstera says ‘hello’ as well. I’m in my sunroom this a.m. sipping my coffee, caring for my green babies & thinking about the word 👉🏾cultivation & how it correlates to life . This plant in the pic was tiny a few years back. It, like other living things in my life, required my care to survive . I had to water it, make sure it received enough sun, kept it warm, fertilized it so it would be properly nourished to flourish and so forth . In return, it fills me up with its beauty . Never did I ever consider giving up on this plant or any of the other ones that I have, and they all have different care requirements & I had to educate myself on what works for each . In turn, it & everything else continues to thrive . 🪴🌱 . . This same conversation also applies to most every other relationship in my life . Friends from childhood, still present today . Close knit Family, highly supportive, I even have a ShihTzu who is well on his way to age 21 this year because I didn’t give up on him . I know he won’t live forever, however, he is doing well & I’m grateful . What I am saying is, cultivate the relationships & the beautiful things in your life so they survive . Yes, we do need to weed out toxic relationships & things that don’t work, and not every thing lives forever either . We do need to give less time to those things (and people) who give us no hope, who we have zero in common with, who give up on us because they are unhappy with themselves, or who are perpetually miserable & want us as miserable as they are . And yes, those same people will smile in your face & spew underlining negativity . Check them & don’t let them . We can’t hold onto & make them work in our lives if they don’t or no longer fit our lives . #lethemgo . . People who believe in better, almost always get better .
