Thank You

Another year is here highlights how crucial it is to surround yourself with positive people. There are many curves and twists throughout the journey. I still hold gratitude and love in my heart. I am happy for my loved ones who are still with me. I still feel grateful. I am grateful for the joy of life. I hope everyone has a lot of love, happiness, and luck. To all, a happy new year!

I cannot believe we're now at the end of 2024 with another New Year upon us, seriously where has this year gone?!

I remember starting out this year by leaving Tumblr and then returning a few weeks later and you know what? I don't regret anything I did at the time. I've learnt to love Tumblr in my own way again and not feel the pressure to be posting every day and for me, it works. 2024 was all about coming to terms with times gone by as well as finding a new path forward on my own.

I've met some great people online (through gaming) and they've slowly helped me come out my shell again. I'll always be a work in progress (mentally and emotionally) but I'm grateful to just be me and not feel like I'm stepping on egg shells as well as being valued as more than just an agony aunt/doorstep for trauma dumping. As for 2025, well I never make resolutions and thats something I'll always stick by because every day is a day you can make a change in your life. Why wait until December 31st/January 1st? So I hope you all have a peaceful New Year and remember don't feel like you should be doing anything to celebrate. I know I won't be. Do what makes you happy, even if it means treating this time of year as just another day.

Don't invite Jonathan to your New Years celebration though, he WILL fear gas everyone and that is a terrible way to start 2025!

Like last year, I made a collage of my favorite fanfiction recipes created in 2024. This year I had fewer posts because so many big life events happened. I finished writing and defending my dissertation, graduated with a PhD, moved nearly 1,600 miles to a new state, and started a new tenure-track teaching job in a beautiful little town. The transition in life and kitchens made me so exhausted that I did not feel like cooking much. But reading fanfiction by the most amazing authors would move me to do something with my hands, and so the fanfiction recipes project continues.

This year I made 36 Dreamling recipes and 4 from another fandom! Thanks to all the authors for helping me keep my hobbies active and sometimes introducing me to new fandoms. Your works bring so much joy to my life and you have been such a big support that I always end up laughing throughout the day!
