“He’s burning up.” Alex says. “He was going to come down for dinner, and then he fainted.” Darlington sits up shakily. He lists a little to one side, then rights himself. “He can hear you,” he mutters. “It’s fine.” For the second time that night, Alex feels the floor drop away from her. “It’s not fine,” she hisses. “You just passed the fuck out, Darlington. What the hell is wrong with you?” Darlington comes down with a nasty case of hell fever. Things get bad, and then they get much worse. Alex tries to hold on.
