Do many systems fall prey to their hosts? if so why? and is possible in their biology to hurt their hosts?

Yay! more questions about systems! So I have had someone talk about this in the comments earlier in my book. I’ll answer them as best i can.

Systema vivum, or systems, are, in a way, quite similar to Heliobi as they can take on a host yet the two are completely different. The most stark difference between the two species is their relation to the host.

The Heliobi prey on their host to either destroy them or to torment them, while systems mostly operates on a pseudo-equivalent type of exchange with their hosts.

Their hosts generate energy for the system to consume, while the system takes that energy to survive and give the host better stuff to help them survive.

this is a good way to look at pain. Kinda reminds me of the "suffering builds character" saying
