Hi, I'm not entirely sure how to phrase this question but I'll try my best to make it make sense. So I've recently been considering taking up Wicca, or Druidism, but at heart I know I'm atheist, I don't believe in an afterlife or any sort of gods. However I feel an indescribable love for nature, and Wicca is a religion that interests me greatly. But is there a way for me to be Wicca without believing in gods? I could really use some advice.
Wicca is inherently religious, as it is a religion — it is duotheistic and the year revolves around the worship and reverence of the God and Goddess.Â
However, that doesn’t mean you can’t practice witchcraft; in fact, far from it. Wicca is a religion, however witchcraft is a practice. You can absolutely still practice secular witchcraft (asksecularwitch is a great resource for that) . Secular witchcraft meaning, of course, the practice of witchcraft without incorporating Deity at all. Not all secular witches are Atheistic, but the practice itself is still devoid of Deity worship. You can practice secular witchcraft with or without the love for nature, as not all witches are Wiccan.Â
This post, this post  and this post might help you out a lot.Â
Best of luck during this new religious journey of yours!
EDIT: I’ve also been informed of hedge-walker, who is also a secular witch. I’m not familiar with them, but they were recommended by a follower. Perhaps they can help you out as well.
