this is not a blog about being skinny.

Confession: Since coming to college last fall, I've gained the inevitable "freshman 15". Which might have been fine if I hadn't been steadily increasing in weight since the beginning of high school. Anyway, my BMI is sitting at 28.2 (overweight is 25.0-29.9, obesity is >30.), which frankly scares the shit out of me. Could it be higher? Yes. 

This isn't about fitting into those skinny jeans, or being able to wear that skimpy bikini. This isn't about being "pretty". This is about being healthy, living long (and well), and being happy. This is about not worrying about a heart attack at the age of 30, or living with diabetes for the rest of my life. This is about getting to eat that slice of cake after dinner (because, hell, who doesn't love cake?)
