#headcanon warning

Also a huge fan of repurposing common idioms for the fictional setting in question. I play in FF7, and these are a few of my favorites:

In for a penny, in for a pound → In for a gil, in for a grand

Rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic → Washing windows in Midgar at Meteorfall

A bull in a china shop → A grandhorn in a glass boutique

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth → Don't look a gift bird in the beak

Boss makes a dollar, I make a dime, that's why I [verb] on company time → Boss makes a fortune, I make a gil, that's why I [verb] while I'm paying the bills

Cold as a witch's tit → Chilly as Shiva's armpit

Hung like a horse → Built like a behemoth

If wishes were horses beggars would ride → If wishes were chocobos beggars would fly

Idioms catch on because there's a particular flow and rhythm to them, so you can't always just swap out a word and expect it to work—you can't just plug in "chocobo" everywhere common turns of phrase use "horse," for instance, because the extra syllables throw off the flow and make the phrase awkward to say. You gotta figure out the pattern in the idiom, where the emphasis hits, etc., and then rework that to work in-universe.

-all of vincent’s gear meaning cloak, headband, armor, gauntlets, boots, holsters, cerberus itself, are all just part of his body that manifest in different forms depending on what form he’s in at the moment. not that his armor is his skin more like it’s a protective shell he wraps himself in like chitin.

he can consciously control how they manifest but the way they usually look is purely reflexive, (like the default state) based on how vincent unconsciously perceives himself and his preferences (which is why he’s dressed so much like his dad used to)

if anyone read the old venom comics (not the new movies they changed a lot of stuff) they know that eddie is naked all the time because when he’s not in venom shape venom morphs into whatever clothing he needs at the time. kind of like that except it’s chaos instead of venom.

So, to the topic of deaths of color. What would happen to Link if:

Green dies: it will lead to complete destruction of identity, self worth, and a perpetual sense of worthlessness and self-loathing;

Blue dies: this will lead to the fondest paranoia with further suicide from it;

Red dies: his death will entail a complete loss of emotion and identification with life, leading to (again) suicide;

Vio dies: this will put an end to his consciousness, forever making him forget everything.

Paradox (and Imp) has a little brother now. Because I said so.

Nexus is that one trouble-kid every family has. He spends his days listening to angsty teenage music (if that is even a thing in Etheria), laying on his bed and hating the world. Occasionally he reads some books, mostly sad novels with bitter endings (and if no-one is watching, happy humor-books with witty dialogue).

He isn't interest in science in a bit, and as much as his parents are saddened by this revelation, they still love Nexus dearly. He can't help but feel like the second best, due to all of the attention Doxie is getting.

Why I like themI’ve been told that parents are obligated to care about their children. OKAY in all seriousness, though, I find Sephiroth to be singularly fascinating in that everyone knows him and yet, no matter what happened, he was always alone. He’s the end result of someone else’s hubris; he’s the mistake that almost damned the world, and he’s going to spend the rest of forever picking up the pieces. Poor kid.

Why I don’tI LOVE MY SON DAMMIT

Favorite episode (scene if movie)Uhhh I’m torn between the scene in the Reactor where he tells Genesis “you will rot” in Crisis Core and the bit where he’s tearing through the library like a man obsessed in OGC. How slowly all the books come off the shelves and get stacked up all over the place--and then suddenly, one evening, they’re all put back and Sephiroth is just sitting at the desk, waiting for someone to find him. Hella powerful sequences, man.

Favorite season/movieMy favorite Sephiroth is Crisis Core Sephiroth because he's the most three-dimensional character in comparison to his other portrayals.

Favorite lineUgh how do I choose? It’s hard to explain how powerful Sephiroth’s dialogue is without going over the context behind them, but I really love his first greeting to Cloud in AC, right after Kadaj ate Jenova’s head. The word he uses (”sashiburi”)is identical to the one Tifa used when she found Cloud in the trainyard in OGC, because he’s a bitch and I love him.

Favorite outfitDISSIDIA 100% I LOVE IT SO MUCH

BrotpTseng in-canon, because I’m totally here for Turks and SOLDIER being bros. I've RP’d in a number of AUs where he winds up bro-ing it up with Nero, though, and I’ve really enjoyed that.

Head CanonSephiroth actually has a huge number of ridiculous allergies, but because he’s enhanced they never present. If he were to somehow get powered down, though...

Unpopular opinionAll opinions are unpopular with someone? I guess my biggest would be that Sephiroth actually doesn’t regret anything he did and believes that he was entitled to all of it. He’s not an inherently good person.

A wishI’d like for Sephiroth, at some point somewhere in some corner of the multiverse, to find out about Lucrecia. I think it would change a lot of things for him to find out that he had an actual mother.
