However here are my headcannons of her as a mother, my characterization !
Bellatrix would be an overprotective mother, while there isn't alot of info in the fandom about her, I like to think she'd be a breathing down your neck kind of mother.
Knows how to raise children, she has raised Andromeda and Narcissa in a way, so she knows her way around children.
Lowk the "found her reason to live in her children" kind of mother to me.
Batshit crazy but somehow soft to her child.
Well we all know that she despises muggle-borns and half-blood. But in her early years, losing Andromeda to a muggleborn would've scarred her in a way that she doesn't like acknowledging, so she wouldn't let her child be around any of them, mostly Muggles.
She would've loved dolling her child, dressing them up in the most extravagant dresses and clothes and would click countless pictures of her child and hang them in beautiful frames everywhere.
You can't go outside, nope, not at all. For you, she'd make a in-house playground but the idea of going out where you can get hurt anytime, also muggles and halfbloods around? Oh silly, that idea is absurd to her!
Wouldn't let you be alone in a room for long, Black family madness has gotten to her so long ago, even if you want to be in a room, you need to keep the door open where she can keep plopping her head once in a while.
She would be loving though, in her own way. Would love matching with the child, teach the child different languages, or read stories to the child out.
Very obsessive, nobody can hold the child. (Since you mentioned her being Lestrange, we'll keep Rodolphus as father) Even Rodolphus needs to be infront of her while he holds the child.
Wouldn't let the child go to any pre-school before Hogwarts, I think she'd home school the child.
Her child would be the centre of attention in every event they go, she'd make sure because of how beautifully and elegantly they're dressed.
You want it? You name it, she'd bring you toffees from different continent if you expressed a desire for it.
Draco would be the child's best friend. Any work in hand or rounds to run? Bellatrix would leave her child in care of Narcissa.
Very obsessive though, in a habit-rule way, like she has certain way for things, way of sitting, what can you like, how can you walk.
She'd lose her shit way easily, sorry, but to me she's a woman with anger issues.
