As soon as the arms were down, Jace was kissing him, body pressing down on his. and shaking his head. “Missed you... Nothing’s wrong.” That wasn’t exactly true, but Jace let the bond open as well, so Alec knew he just didn’t want to talk about it right now. He kissed his face and lied down besides him, one arm around him to pull him close and kiss his neck. “Sorry about this.” He said, leaning over him and turning off the bed lamp. “We can go back to sleep, can I just stay here?” Asks softly, caressing his face.
He was having nightmares again, and back when he was a kid, and had just watched his father be murdered, or so he’d thought, the only thing that had helped had been Alec. Alec would come to his room then, when Jace was trashing and making sounds, and he would sit down besides him on the bed until he calmed down. Eventually, it turned into lying down with him, and then they’d started doing that most nights, coming to each other, to sleep, until Jace started sleeping through the night. And once puberty hit...
Alec had seemed uncomfortable suddenly and they’d stopped. Now, Jace could guess why, looking back, and he felt like they had plenty of lost time to catch up on, and besides, he couldn’t think of a good reason why he should be sleeping without Alec anyway.
